This special balm has become "La Curandera" or "The healing woman." Essential at home, calendula and plantago cool and soothe many skin irritations.
I love making soap. But, I'd burn myself working in the kitchen. Or, I'd get sunburned while foraging.
I needed a balm knowing that it would keep me safe, to soothe those lye burns. I'd adapt it for me and many possible situations. I want to avoid something that would feel off and short! Sorry, Bepanthen and Bio'Oil, you guys are out of my life now!
Foraged plantain (Plantago lanceolata) paired with calendula (Calendula officinalis) is a powerful remedy.
I've cut myself while foraging a couple of times. Each time, I chewed a clean plantain leaf and used it as a plaster on my finger. My husband would look at me like a wild person. But, after 30 minutes, he'd see the cut was cleaner and the bleeding had stopped. I love having plantain around. It is a great partner to Calendula. They help troubled, bleeding skin that itches.
Sometimes I think their synergy should be more usual as a great Skin Repair solution! Calendula by itself keeps being great for Skin problems, and I feel that Plantain has an unknown potential to bring forth and really aid our overall skin health (for me, it even looks like muscle tissue!).
With Tallow's help, I know you can get those nutrients deeper into your skin. You can also get extra vitamins that only grass-fed animal fat can provide.
Use this balm to soothe nappy rash, repair dry skin, tackle chapped lips or soothe sun-damaged skin. Even those tiny cuts and wounds will get a relief.
This balm is my first aid for winter dry lips. I also use it in summer for Nettle rash.
I can´t wait for you to discover the beauty and power of these local Irish plants.

I was in with Colin on the 07/05 and he recommended the calendula balm as I suffer badly from dermatitis and eczema on my hands. He let me sample the balm first and immediate relief! I bought it to try and applied every night since for the last week and it has been the only thing that helped with it, (cycled through every steroid cream and over the counter creams to no help) no irritation no broken skin! So happy with this product! Will be buying again :)
Yay! I'm so happy to hear that it worked for you. Thank you for sharing your experience so others can find help. :)
Healed a sore that had been open for a few months and nothing else had worked on.
Love this moisturiser. It is very gentle on the skin and no perfume.
Would recommend it.
Love the texture of the tallow and the way my skin feelsbeautifully soft . Stays feeling that way all day.
This calendula balm is a lifesaver for bites, soothes right away and you can be sure nothing harmful is being absorbed by your skin (as always with Namawe products 😊)
